Rules of qualification of the Indy 500
Qualifications Indy 500 takes place a week before the race and consists of two parts.On Saturday in qualifying for the participation of all interested persons. Each pilot must pass a series of four fastest laps in a row. If the pilot decides to make a second or third attempt, the previous attempts will be forfeited. The second qualification is open to the top 33 of the pilot.On Sunday all the Saturday results are set to zero. Nine best pilots on the results of the first session get the right to compete for the spots from 1st to 9th.
