Carlos Sainz: First impressions are positive

On the first day of pre-season testing in Bahrain, Carlos Sainz was able to fully work with the new Williams car. The Spanish racer said that the new FW47 left a good first impression, but the team has already identified areas that need to be addressed. Alex Albon shares the same opinion about the car.

Carlos Sainz (5th): "Overall, a positive first day for the team, especially considering that work on the track was interrupted due to a power outage. We were able to complete the planned program by doing a lot of laps, which was the main goal on the first day.

The first impressions are positive, but in the remaining days we will try to improve the balance of the car on both short and long laps."

Alex Albon (9th): "Good day. We still have a lot to work on, but the basic behavior of the car seems quite acceptable. The essence of the tests is to understand how all systems work and identify areas that need to be worked on.

We made several adjustments to the car, which gave a positive result. We have already worked with this car several times this year, but we, as drivers, always want to spend more time behind the wheel. Overall, it's great to get started!"
