Technical problems prevented Aston Martin

Technical problems hampered the Aston Martin team on the first day of pre-season testing in Bahrain. Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll drove the minimum distance among all – 46 and 42 laps, respectively. At the time of publication of this material, more than three hours after the completion of the tests, the team had not published a press release for the day, but the Spanish press managed to find out some details of the problems that Aston Martin had.

Fernando Alonso worked in the morning session, but was unable to complete the planned program. The first series of laps went smoothly, but then one of the sensors failed on the AMR25. It took the team more than forty minutes to disassemble the machine, replace the damaged sensor, and reassemble it.

Lance Stroll also had problems in the afternoon session – the Canadian's telemetry failed, and he interrupted a series of laps. The engineers had to completely restart the entire system, and it took longer than usual.

Aston Martin expects to be able to make up for lost time in the remaining days of testing.
