Zak Brown is not surprised by Horner's resignation.

It took some time, but Zak Brown eventually commented on Christian Horner's removal from all leadership positions at Red Bull Racing, indicating that he wasn't particularly surprised by the development.

It can be said that Brown, the CEO of McLaren Racing, and Horner were rivals not only on the track. They often publicly exchanged barbs on various issues, mostly quite principled, during press conferences or indirectly, as they often held diametrically opposed views.

When asked if he was surprised by the personnel changes at Red Bull, Brown replied very categorically: "Perhaps the timing was surprising, but not the outcome. I believe that over the past couple of years, many dramatic events have occurred, and it doesn't seem like the tension is easing. Maybe it will only get worse..."

At the same time, Horner's departure from the scene will in no way affect Brown and his team's morale, even if what is happening further weakens Red Bull Racing’s position, which is not even in contention for the lead this season: "We continue to work diligently toward achieving our goals. But Max Verstappen still poses a threat and is knocking on our doors, and we must not lose sight of that."
