The stewards did not penalize Lewis Hamilton.

After the finish of the sprint in Canada, the stewards reviewed Lewis Hamilton's actions in his battle with Oscar Piastri. The Ferrari driver was suspected of gaining an advantage by going off the track.

While ahead of Piastri, Hamilton cut the last chicane and returned to the track in front of the McLaren driver. After considering the circumstances of the incident, the stewards determined that at that moment Oscar was not close enough to Lewis to make a legitimate overtaking maneuver; therefore, Hamilton was not "defending" his position and did not gain an advantage.

As a result, it was decided not to impose any sanctions on the seven-time world champion.
