Aston Martin received a second monetary fine.
The stewards of the Canadian Grand Prix issued a second penalty to the Aston Martin team following qualifying, but did not penalize Lance Stroll and Lewis Hamilton for blocking their rivals. The first penalty was a fine of 5,000 euros for a mechanic releasing Fernando Alonso onto the pit lane in front of Franco Colapinto, and the second was for releasing Lance Stroll's car onto the track in an unsafe condition. The stewards determined that when Stroll exited the pit lane, the outer cap first flew off his wheel, and during the first lap, the inner cap also came off. The stewards noted that although these parts are made of carbon, they could have injured people in the pit lane or damaged other cars. As a result, the team was fined 7,500 euros. Lance Stroll was involved in another investigation – he was suspected of blocking Nico Hülkenberg, but the stewards did not find any violations in the actions of the Aston Martin driver. Similarly, the stewards found no violations in the actions of Lewis Hamilton, who was suspected of possibly blocking Pierre Gasly.
