Fast and Furious is about to combine with fast food. Universal Studios is rebranding the Hollywood and Dine restaurant at its Los Angeles theme park to “Fast & Furious Drift & Dine,” cleverly playing on words to sell more pricey burgers and specialty cocktails in celebration of the franchise’s 25th anniversary and in anticipation of what is expected to be its final theatrical chapter.
Images shared on Instagram by beyondthebacklot and thecalibae indicate that the venue is already set up and resembles a typical theme park eatery. A supposed menu shared on Reddit lacks a tuna sandwich (what a letdown, and it shouldn't have crust if it were offered–Ed), but it does feature Corona and a drink called “Orange Nitro Rush” made with NOS energy drink, along with a “Quarter Mile Funnel Cake.” Like most theme park restaurants, the rest of the menu is filled with sweet and fried items. If you’ve just realized that many of the cars from the first film are old enough to qualify as vintage vehicles, it seems like a fitting spot to indulge your emotions.
Drift and Dine will be alongside a Fast and Furious-themed roller coaster debuting at Universal Studios this summer. “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” will include cars modeled after iconic vehicles from the franchise, such as Dom’s Dodge Charger, Han’s VeilSide Mazda RX-7, and Brian’s R34 Nissan Skyline GT-R along with his A80 Toyota Supra. They will reach speeds up to 72 mph and rotate a full 360 degrees. Therefore, it may be wise to experience the roller coaster before dining at Drift & Dine.
It's not unexpected that Universal is enhancing the profile of this franchise, as an eleventh installment titled Fast Forever is set to hit theaters on March 17, 2028. This will conclude the main narrative that began with the initial movie in 2001, but similar to Star Wars, there may be additional spinoffs set in the same universe outside the primary storyline. Vin Diesel recently mentioned that he is developing a live-action Fast and Furious TV series for Peacock.
