Bottas asserts that he will remain with Cadillac for 2027.

Valtteri Bottas has once again attempted to quell speculation regarding his future with Cadillac by asserting that he will still be on the Formula 1 grid in 2027. The Finnish driver is facing increased scrutiny as his teammate Sergio Perez continues to excel, while rumors linger that Cadillac-backed IndyCar star Colton Herta is being groomed for a future race seat in F2 this year, potentially taking one of their places next season. In an interview with Finland’s Ilta Sanomat, the 36-year-old was firm in his stance.

"As long as I'm aware of my situation and maintain constant communication with the team, people can say whatever they wish," Bottas stated. "It won’t alter my life." When asked specifically about the upcoming season, Bottas was clear. "I know what my contract entails, and the team fully supports me. I will unquestionably be here next year as well."

Cadillac's inaugural season has proven to be more challenging than anticipated, and the team currently stands as the only one in the pit lane without a point. Bottas acknowledged that the issues faced by the team go beyond mere bad luck. "There hasn’t really been a race without at least one problem," he remarked. "We need to enhance the quality and assembly. The car assembly has at times been unnecessarily hurried."

The former Mercedes driver also declined to make direct comparisons with Perez, who has generally appeared to be the stronger of the two Cadillac drivers so far. "At this point, comparing is pointless," Bottas noted. "Given the circumstances and all the problems, it is meaningless." Bottas remains optimistic that Cadillac's fortunes will improve considerably as the season unfolds. "I am confident that in two months our car will be significantly faster," he asserted. "I have physically seen all that is in the pipeline."
