Bottas claims he will remain with Cadillac through 2027.

Valtteri Bottas has once again addressed speculation regarding his future with Cadillac, asserting that he will still be part of the Formula 1 grid in 2027. The Finn has faced increased scrutiny as teammate Sergio Perez continues to outperform him, and there are ongoing rumors about Cadillac-supported IndyCar driver Colton Herta, who is being groomed for a potential race seat in F2 this year, possibly replacing one of them next season. In an interview with Finland’s Ilta Sanomat, the 36-year-old was clear.

"As long as I understand my situation and maintain constant communication with the team, people can say whatever they wish," Bottas stated. "It won’t affect my life."

Responding specifically about the upcoming season, Bottas was unequivocal. "I know what my contract entails, and the team fully supports me. I will definitely be here next year as well."

Cadillac's inaugural season has proven more challenging than anticipated, making them the only team in the pitlane without any points. Bottas acknowledged that the team's issues go beyond mere bad luck. "There hasn’t been a race without at least one issue," he remarked. "We need to enhance our quality and assembly. Sometimes assembling the car has been unnecessarily hurried."

The former Mercedes driver also declined to draw direct comparisons with Perez, who has generally appeared to be the stronger of the two Cadillac drivers up to this point. "At this point, there’s no benefit in comparing," Bottas said. "Given the circumstances and the various problems, it is irrelevant."

Bottas remains optimistic that Cadillac’s performance will significantly improve as the season advances. "I am certain that in two months our car will be much faster," he stated. "I have physically seen everything that is planned."
