Martin Brundle returns to racing.
Former Formula 1 driver and commentator for the British channel Sky Sports F1, Martin Brundle, is getting back behind the wheel. This weekend he will compete in a six-hour historic race at Spa. Joining Martin in the same crew will be his son Alex and Gary Pearson.
The six-hour race at Spa is open to GTP, GT and touring-class cars built before 1966. Brundle is set to pilot a Ford GT40. It will be his first race in three years since the Goodwood Revival festival.
"I just wanted to sit behind the wheel of Alex's GT40," Martin Brundle commented on the upcoming start. "Even on Formula 1 Grand Prix weekends, when we commentate on different series, we don't see each other often, so it's simply a rare opportunity for father and son to spend a weekend together.
"I don't have any particular expectations about the result. I like Spa and I like this car, which I haven't yet had the chance to drive with a full tank. It will be interesting."
