Pierre Gasly: Anything can happen in São Paulo.
The Alpine F1 team sits last, in 10th place in the Constructors’ Championship and has long come to terms with it, since all efforts and resources are being poured into preparing for 2026. Last year at the São Paulo Grand Prix they managed the nearly impossible: circumstances fell into place so that both of their drivers ended up on the podium.
This season Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto will rarely manage to finish even close to the top ten, so there are no hopes of repeating that success, but both have assured that they will do everything they can.
Pierre Gasly: "The team is preparing to return to São Paulo, and this weekend we will be racing in Brazil. Races at the Interlagos circuit bring back special memories for all of us, including for me, because that was where I stood on the podium for the first time since 2019 – of course, last season we achieved a fantastic result.
It’s a legendary track, and the grandstands are always packed to the rafters with Brazilian fans. They truly love Formula 1, and the atmosphere at the circuit is simply incredible, no matter the weather.
A lap at this track is one of the shortest on the championship calendar, so the differences in results are minimal. In addition, São Paulo will host the penultimate sprint of the year, which makes the weekend’s program even busier.
Anything can happen at the Brazilian round, and we will be watching the weather changes closely. And, as always, we will try to give our all in the final stages of the season."
Franco Colapinto: "It’s always a joy to return to South America. Last year I raced in Brazil for the first time, and I’m already looking forward to getting to work on track in front of the grandstands full of fans. There will also be plenty of Argentinians coming to support me.
Last year’s race left me with mixed feelings, but the Interlagos circuit is special — it has a very rich history, which creates a unique aura.
Last year we saw what the Alpine team achieved — during the São Paulo race anything can happen, so we must be ready to take any opportunity. Besides, the Brazilian weekend includes a sprint, so there will be even more chances.
This season has been tough for us, but we’re not discouraged and we will try to do the best job possible this weekend."
