Lando Norris: I'm ready to fight for victory in Qatar

McLaren's usual preview ahead of the Qatar Grand Prix was unusually concise. The team only briefly mentioned the disqualification at the previous round in Las Vegas, and Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri expressed their readiness to fight for the win.

Lando Norris: "Great to be back in Qatar for the final sprint weekend of the season. I'm glad I'll be able to drive the MCL39 around the Lusail circuit. There are good overtaking opportunities here, and I'm ready to fight for the win."

Oscar Piastri: "Lusail is one of my favourite tracks on the calendar. I have many good memories there, including my first Formula 1 win in the 2023 sprint. The circuit is fast and smooth with a lot of medium- and high-speed corners and good overtaking opportunities. I'm looking forward to both races and the chance to fight among the frontrunners."

Andrea Stella, team principal: "What happened in Las Vegas will not change our approach this weekend. The mindset that helped us win two Constructors' Championships and ensured both our drivers are fighting for the title will remain unchanged. We will attack at the limit to fully unlock the potential. Painful moments are part of our sport, but they provide an opportunity to learn and become stronger. We've analysed everything, made improvements, and are ready to move on. The team remains united and focused on providing Lando and Oscar with the best car in Qatar. The characteristics of the track should suit our car. There are two rounds left, and both our drivers deserve a chance to fight for the title."
