Vermuelen: We have our own chat "The Three Musketeers"
Max Verstappen's manager Raymond Vermeulen is the architect of the Dutch racer's commercial success. In an interview with Formula 1 Magazine, Raymond talked about how controversial issues are resolved...
Raymond Vermeulen: "I had to work hard to keep up with Max commercially, as he was far ahead of his time. Everything happened so quickly, and the impact was huge, unprecedented. I felt a tremendous responsibility and, of course, I made mistakes at times.
But all decisions, right and wrong, we always made together. Between us – Max, Jos, and me, there has never been a harsh word spoken. I believe that after thirty years of dedication to the Verstappen family, I have earned enough respect for that. And, to be honest, I think we made very few mistakes. But our collaboration would never have worked out this way if we were different in character. We understand each other very well, and that helps a lot.
For example, we have a group chat called 'The Three Musketeers.' We share everything there: from serious topics to funny videos. And if something really serious happens, we call each other or I go to Max's house. But that doesn't happen often. We completely trust each other."
