Berman: This weekend we will assess our true level.

Oliver Berman did not finish the race in Monaco, retiring due to brake issues. However, the Haas driver believes that the car's speed allows for a fight for a place in the top ten, and he intends to do so in Barcelona.

Oliver Berman: "I think in Monaco we could have fought for points. Speaking of pure speed, I believe we were about on the same level as Liam Lawson. At least, under normal circumstances in qualifying.

Of course, qualifying in Monaco is rarely normal. I was a bit unlucky with the red flags and the timing of their appearance.

After the session resumed, I tried my best to improve my time, but the tires were no longer working in the optimal range, and in Monaco, without grip on the track, you can't do anything. I squeezed the maximum out of the car, but in the end, I was about one-tenth of a second short.

After that, everything was decided in the race. We saw quite a few interesting events, but unfortunately, I had brake problems that forced me to retire.

Nevertheless, I believe that with a normal qualifying session, we could have fought with the Racing Bulls drivers and possibly Alpine. In Monaco, we really looked quite competitive, so I was curious about what we could expect in the race. But after a disappointing qualifying session, it turned out to be almost impossible to recover.

I hope we can unlock our potential in Barcelona. We brought many updates back in Canada, but to be honest, it has been difficult to make them work as effectively as possible and achieve the best possible pace.

In Canada, we managed to earn a point, but largely thanks to the retirements of our competitors. Monaco had its own challenges. Both of these tracks are very bumpy, so the car has to be set up quite differently than at most other races of the season.

I hope Barcelona will suit us better. This track should be more favorable for our car, and I expect that we will be able to unlock our potential better here.

On Friday, we will learn a lot about the car. Before that, we had a sprint weekend and the race in Monaco – two very specific events on completely different tracks. So Barcelona will be a good opportunity to understand where we really stand."
