Cadillac plans to switch to its own engine in 2029.
The Cadillac team, which debuted in Formula 1 this season, is using Ferrari power units while continuing to work on its own engine. Cadillac's Formula 1 program director Dan Tauriss stated that the appearance of its own engine is expected in 2029.
Dan Tauriss: "We are working according to a plan that involves creating a V6 power unit in 2029. Additionally, there is currently a discussion about the possibility of transitioning to V8 engines in the future, and we would be happy to build a V8 engine as well.
Thus, there is still a lot of work to be done and many negotiations with power unit manufacturers. We'll see what ultimately comes of it."
