Günther Steiner on the reasons for the absence of the German stage

Former Haas F1 team principal Günther Steiner stated in an interview with Bild that the return of the German Grand Prix to the Formula 1 calendar is impossible without support from politicians and the automotive industry.

Günther Steiner: "Holding a Grand Prix is expensive, but if everything is organized professionally, this event can be profitable. First and foremost, it needs to be supported by the automotive industry and politics. Companies like Mercedes or Audi can easily afford such sums.

Moreover, passionate people are needed to promote this project, but at the moment I don't see anyone willing to take on this responsibility. Many people are afraid of discussions about motorsport and the environment. No one will simply say, 'Let's do this right now.'"
