The Goodwood Festival of Speed is the ultimate automotive event in the world, featuring some of the rarest, oldest, most exciting, and loudest cars and motorcycles. Occasionally, something truly remarkable appears on the 13th Duke of Richmond's driveway. This year, that’s the legendary Lightning McQueen.
Sadly, Mr. Ka-Chow isn't actually racing up the hill, so his appearance is purely for entertainment purposes. Admittedly, seeing him line up with some serious race cars at the starting line is quite entertaining. Sure, some car enthusiasts might find this silly, but come on, life shouldn’t always be taken so seriously.
As the commentators note, when the original Cars movie debuted in the summer of 2006, it marked a significant cultural moment for cars and motorsports. Pixar excelled with the references, the car designs, the racing narratives, and the talented voices behind the characters—Michael Schumacher even made an appearance!
You can watch Mr. McQueen's ascent up the hill here or in the video below, but you'll need to fast-forward to 2:58.00 to catch it. Alternatively, you can check out all the other awesome cars that went up before and after him, including Kimi Antonelli in a stylish Mercedes.
