Johnny Hebert has a new position at Lola

      A day after the FIA announced the removal of Johnny Herbert from the stewardship ranks, Lola has made the announcement that it has appointed the former racing driver as chief brand ambassador, where he will play a key role in developing the company's business and corporate ambitions. With Lola, Herbert will be involved in both the Formula E program and future projects. These could include a return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where he won in 1991 as a Mazda driver, as well as a move into other forms of motorsport that use alternative fuels. Herbert was helped to secure his place at Lola by his friendship with the company's commercial director Keith Smout, who knew him from his Formula 1 appearances in the 1990s. Johnny Herbert: "I think the return of Lola is great news for the motorsport industry as the brand brings together different eras of racing. Lola is back in Formula E today, taking on a new challenge. This championship has an important place in motorsport, combining spectacular racing with cutting-edge technology, which has always fascinated me."
