Williams Reveals Button, Villeneuve, and Chadwick as Part of 2025 Ambassador Team
Williams Racing is excited to announce that F1 World Champion Jenson Button and Jamie Chadwick will remain as ambassadors for the team for the 2025 season, with former Drivers’ Champion Jacques Villeneuve joining the roster, further enhancing the link between the team’s esteemed history and its forward-looking aspirations.
Jacques, who clinched Williams’ last Drivers’ Championship title in 1997, returns as the team evolves in its quest to reclaim a top position on the grid. He won his F1 title in only his second season, two years after securing the IndyCar championship; he is one of only four drivers to have won titles in both disciplines. In 1997, he achieved seven Grand Prix victories and ended the championship with nearly double the points of his closest rival, his Williams teammate Heinz-Harald Frentzen. "Williams has played a significant role in my life, full of cherished memories," Jacques noted. "I am thrilled to be part of the family again, celebrating the team’s legacy while supporting its future."
Jenson made his F1 debut with Williams in 2000, marking the 25th anniversary of that event this year, which coincides with F1's 75th anniversary. He returned to the Williams family in 2019, blending his history with the team that launched his career with a successful stint in sportscar racing and broadcasting. "Williams gave me my first opportunity in Formula 1, and it’s remarkable to celebrate 25 years since that debut this year," Jenson remarked. "Being an ambassador for this team is an honor, and I look forward to continuing to contribute to its legacy and future."
Jamie, a three-time W Series champion and Indy NXT race winner, has been a part of the Williams Racing family since 2019. The team provided her with her first chance to drive an F1 car when she took Keke Rosberg’s FW08C for a spin at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Alongside her ambassador role, she serves as an F1 Academy Adviser, where for the second consecutive year, she will support Lia Block as she embarks on her early career in single-seaters. "Williams has been a significant element of my career and journey in motorsport over the past four years," Jamie stated. "I am proud to keep representing the team in 2025, challenging myself to grow as a driver and aiding the next generation of racers coming through F1 Academy."
James Vowles, Team Principal, expressed: “It’s an honor to have Jenson, Jacques, and Jamie with us for 2025. Together, they embody the essence of this iconic team: the history we’ve created, our proud tradition of nurturing future champions and expanding access to motorsport, and our ambition and resolve to make history again. Jenson and Jacques debuted in F1 with Williams and became World Champions, while Jamie has broken barriers for women in motorsport as a Williams Racing driver and mentor to Lia. We are thrilled to have them as part of the next chapter in Williams’ narrative.”
