Antonio Giovinazzi: Aiming for a WEC win

Yesterday, the motorsport division of Ferrari presented its program in endurance racing for 2025: under the numbers 50 and 51 in the WEC will again participate hypercar 499P, two years in a row won at Le Mans. According to Antonio Giovinazzi, a former Formula 1 driver, now quite successful in the WEC, this year he and his teammates will try to fight for victory in both world championship standings, not just in individual races. In this case, he will continue to perform the duties of the reserve driver Scuderia in Formula 1, but together with Guangyu Zhou. "Last year we showed good results, and the whole team progressed - quotes Antonio Gazzetta dello Sport. - It's great that we presented the 2025 car in Fiorano, because it's a special place. Our overall goal for the upcoming season is to keep moving forward. Of course, Ferrari is a great team, but at the same time in the top category of the WEC we perform relatively short time, trying to gradually achieve more and more stable results. This is our third year in the Hypercar class and it is important that we already know not only our strengths but also our weaknesses. The 499P is still a fairly new car, but it has already proved both its speed and reliability. We will try to learn from past mistakes, we will again aim to win at Le Mans and make every effort to succeed in the World Championship. Last year we managed to largely solve the problem of rubber degradation, because it was our shortcoming in the debut season. In 2025, we must perform steadily and do not make mistakes. In addition to the race in Le Mans, I also have high expectations with the "6 Hours of Imola" - we hope that we can successfully perform and there, so that our fans have something to be proud of. Giovinatsii said a few words about Lewis Hamilton, his new colleague: "When such a champion comes to Ferrari, it is always interesting, including for his partners, who will have to understand his approach to the business. I have already worked with Lewis at the tests in Barcelona, and to see him in a red uniform is very happy". Next weekend in Qatar will be held the so-called "Prologue" to the World Endurance Championship, and on February 28 scheduled race "1812 km Qatar". The stage in Imola that Giovinazzi is talking about will be held on April 20.
