Berman: I don't feel pressured, only encouraged

Oliver Berman is preparing for his first full season in Formula 1 and is not yet ready to talk about what results he would like to achieve. According to the 19-year-old British racer Haas F1, he first of all wants to enjoy the work, because his main dream has come true. Oliver Berman: "I really do not feel any pressure, but only excitement. I'm looking forward to the start of the championship, I want to finally try my hand at racing in my first full season, because so far I've only done three Grands Prix. I want it to start as soon as possible and I intend to enjoy the work. I have worked all my life to become a Formula 1 driver and now my goal is to fully enjoy it, because I think I am very lucky. That's the mindset I have now, because of the constant stress and pressure in Formula 1, you can forget that I got into this championship only because racing is my main passion, and I'm going to enjoy literally every moment of my debut season, and the rest will come. As I gain experience, I will become faster, I will be more comfortable in the car, and as an athlete I will reach a higher level of professional training. It will happen naturally, and, of course, from race to race I'm going to constantly analyze my work, my results, but now I intend above all to get the maximum pleasure. Of course, I had to pull up very seriously in terms of physical preparation - the need for this I realized after last year's debut race for Ferrari in Saudi Arabia, because then I came to the end of the season. During the off-season I paid a lot of attention to strengthening my neck muscles, and I continue to do cardio training, but the most effective training of the neck muscles is to participate in races. I hope they will get stronger as the season progresses. But I continue to work out intensively in the gym, and I also do a lot of cycling. I like it, and it's also a very good way to prepare for the season. We get on very well with Esteban Ocon, my teammate, and we had a lot of fun while solving the difficult tasks that the team set for us. I am happy to cooperate with him, because he has a very rich experience of performances in Formula 1, and I try to understand what I can learn from him. Hopefully, together we can help the team progress.
