      It's not often that special events happen for the first time in life - the first day at school, the first kiss, the first date, the first day at the first job, and to be honest, I thought that for me it was all in the past, and nothing new would happen.

      But even after so many years in Formula 1, I was surprised to feel how much I love what I do. When I put on the red jumpsuit and climbed into the cockpit, the excitement I felt was very similar to the emotions I felt when I got behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car for the first time in my life.

      Then, 20 years ago, I was 21 years old. But this time it was different. I've always imagined what it would be like: I'm sitting in the cockpit with people in red all around me.…

      I've been waiting for this for a long time and have been preparing for this day for many months – in my opinion, the first week with Ferrari was preceded by the longest waiting period in my memory. And now every day feels really new and interesting to me. The first meeting with the team just amazed me: they welcomed me so warmly. I felt that all these people passionately love what they are doing.

      About the Ferrari team

      I've been racing in Formula 1 for so many years, but I've only ever seen a small part of this team, just its racing crew. Naturally, I knew that there was a big team behind it, but I realized its scale only when I got into it myself and saw everything with my own eyes.

      There are no more than a hundred people working on race weekends, and here I see that there are thousands of them! They work behind the scenes, create these machines, work with them, and this is a very large team.

      About Ferrari fans

      When the car started the engine, it was the beginning of a new journey into the unknown. And it was the most exciting moment in my memory. I knew that I would see Typhosi on the highway, and they would be on some bridge. What is the bridge, where is it? But when I finally got to the first corner and saw the fans, it was incredible!

      I was glad that they accepted me like that, and I just thought that the main thing was to try to keep the car on track.

      About the Ferrari car

      In the previous 10, 12, 17 years, I had never piloted a car like this. It is unique in itself, and when I first felt the vibrations of the Ferrari engine, I was thrilled, and a big smile appeared on my face.

      You know, I've always watched the Ferrari drivers before me and thought, "How would I look in red?" But now I can also wear a jumpsuit with this famous logo, and it's a great honor for me. I hope I can prove that red suits me.
