UK media prohibited from covering the latest news on Horner.

The British media has been prohibited from covering the recent developments in the Christian Horner controversy. This issue, which overshadowed much of the Red Bull team principal's 2024 season, had quieted down after an internal investigation found him not guilty in a 'sexting' incident involving a female employee. However, as reported by the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, the unnamed employee has now escalated her complaint to the UK Employment Tribunal, which has accepted her claim and set an initial hearing for January 2026.

"Multiple sources in the paddock confirmed to De Telegraaf that the employee’s case against Horner and Red Bull will be presented in the employment court in January 2026, in England," journalist Erik van Haren noted. This action comes after the employee reportedly declined Horner and Red Bull's efforts to settle the issue privately. Interestingly, the Dutch report states that Horner has successfully obtained a Reporting Restriction Order from the court, preventing the British media from discussing the latest developments. "This will remain in effect until the restrictions are lifted," van Haren stated. "Several media outlets are contesting the ban."

Even with the reporting restriction, the Horner issue is extensively covered in the latest episode of F1's Netflix series Drive To Survive, where the 51-year-old team principal pointed out his adversaries. "It was clear that the ultimate goal was for me to leave Red Bull," he remarked. Horner specifically criticized McLaren CEO Zak Brown, labeling him a "pr*ck." "The higher you rise, the sharper the knives," he added. "I’ve reached the pinnacle of my career and never imagined I would encounter a challenge like this."
