Mattia Binotto: The car needs to continue to be improved

Sauber scored six points in the first stage of the season in Australia. Before the Chinese Grand Prix, the team recognized that the result was possible due to the changeable weather, and in order to compete for points on dry asphalt, the car must continue to be improved.

Mattia Binotto, Chief Operating and Technical Officer: "The Melbourne race was an encouraging start to our 2025 campaign, but for now we are already focused on the next race weekend.

The changeable weather allowed us to gather valuable information about how fast the C45 was in different conditions, and the team performed flawlessly, which was a big plus. Obviously, the changeable weather allowed us to earn points, but the car needs to continue to be improved in order to consistently compete for points in regular races. That is why, at this stage of the season, it is crucial to take every chance and continue to optimize the car.

Now we are going to Shanghai, where the sprint format is even more demanding for error-free work. One training session means that proper preparation and quick decision-making will be crucial in the fight to get into the top ten.

We know where we are, what we need to improve, and we are ready to take advantage of any opportunity that may arise this weekend."

Nico Hulkenberg: "It's a great start to the season for the team in Melbourne, which has given us a positive attitude towards the Chinese Grand Prix.

The tension level increases over the weekend in the sprint format, and Saturday sessions are even more important than usual. Immediately after the sprint, you need to focus on qualifying for the main race. Our approach will remain unchanged – we need to make the most of each weekend session and collect as much information as possible.

I like the Shanghai circuit. The goal is to get involved in the fight from the very beginning, have a good weekend and move forward."

Gabriel Bortoleto: "I learned a lot in Australia, and now I'm looking forward to applying my experience in the next stage. The sprint format means that it is necessary to immediately join the fight, but I am ready for this challenge.

I spent a lot of time working on the simulator in the off-season to learn the track in Shanghai. It's definitely a difficult track, and I'm glad to have the opportunity to race on it for the first time. We need to do our best on every lap when necessary.

My goal is to take another step forward and compete in the sprint and Sunday's main race."
