Lando Norris will arrive at the Bahrain Grand Prix with a one-point advantage over Max Verstappen in the individual standings. The McLaren driver expects to have an effective race and increase the gap from his pursuers.
Lando Norris: "Bahrain is next! I'm excited to race on this track this weekend. We're going to have the first night race of the season, so I'm wondering how we'll look in different conditions from all the ones we've raced in this year.
We picked up a good pace, finishing on the podium with two cars in two races in a row. The season is just beginning, but we can already see that every point we earn is important. We strive to have an interesting race and earn even more points. Let's go!"
Oscar Piastri: "We had three very encouraging race weekends in 2025. I feel like I have a very high pace and I want to consolidate it in Bahrain.
The car handles perfectly – thanks to the team for their hard work. I'm looking forward to getting back to work on the track."
Andrea Stella, team principal: "After a good result in Suzuka, we are returning to Bahrain for the first night race of the season.
The MCL39 proved its competitiveness in the first three races of the season, but we are realistic about how much more needs to be done to stay competitive. The February pre-season tests in Bahrain turned out to be quite positive, but in April we expect slightly different conditions on the track.
The race in Bahrain is the second home race for the team. We really appreciate the support that they give us here, because it motivates us to attack with all our might in order to earn more points, podiums and victories."
