Ghasli: Jeddah's high-speed turns should suit us

In Bahrain, Alpine earned its first points of the season. The team's drivers Pierre Gasly and Jack Duane want to consolidate their success, and finish in the top ten with two cars in Jeddah.

Pierre Gasly: "It's great to leave Bahrain with the points we've earned after three difficult races at the start of the season. I am very happy for the team and I am glad that we had a competitive race. The strategy and pit stops went well, the car was fast, and we will definitely improve in the upcoming races. The timing of the safety car's exit wasn't perfect, and it was frustrating when Max Verstappen overtook me on the last lap, but I'm still happy for the team.

The planned series of stages will continue in Jeddah, and we hope to be competitive again. The track is fast and I hope the high-speed turns will play into our hands, as they did in Bahrain, but we still have a lot to understand in the car. The team's goal is to finish in the top ten in Saudi Arabia, and I'm looking forward to returning to this track myself.

I would like to add that I watched the Masters golf final, and I am glad that Rory McIlroy, one of our investors, has finally received the green jacket. Congratulations!"

Jack Duane: "The team had a positive weekend in Bahrain - the car was competitive and Pierre scored points for seventh place. Overall, I'm happy with my speed, but I'm a little disappointed with the result because things didn't work out in our favor.

The team achieved their best qualifying result of the season and both cars competed in the top ten for most of the race. This means that we are able to fight for points, but I was unlucky. The safety car pulled out at the wrong moment – towards the end of the race, it proved difficult to stay in the points and face rivals on fresher and softer tires.

Right now, all our attention is on the race weekend in Saudi Arabia, which completes the series. I know this track from my Formula 2 performances – it's a fast and smooth track where you need to unleash the speed of the car from the very beginning of the weekend. We will try to build on the momentum we have gained and earn even more points for the team."
