Turini: Piastri reminds me of Raikkonen in his youth

Leo Turini, a well-known Italian journalist, commenting on the results of the Bahrain Grand Prix, compared Oscar Piastri to a young Kimi Raikkonen, although, of course, it was mostly about Ferrari.

...And yet it's moving. I'm talking about Ferrari, which is progressing, but at a very restrained pace. And this is certainly not a reason for euphoria, because in the end we remained in 4th and 5th places.

On the 4th and on the 5th. Despite the fact that Red Bull unexpectedly lost ground, which is not typical for this team. Max Verstappen was clearly angry, and we saw it, because in just one week he was thrown from heaven to earth.

Back to Ferrari, it looks like they are still unable to assemble their Rubik's cube, but after the offensively poor results of the first three Grands Prix, with the exception of the Shanghai sprint, their performance in Bahrain is somewhat encouraging. More precisely, it was no longer as depressing as usual.

      Now about the racers.

After Saturday's qualifying fiasco, Lewis Hamilton had a decent race: he started ninth and finished fifth. But Charles Leclair remains the true leader of the Scuderia at this stage of its history. And the Bahrain Grand Prix was another proof of that.

Charles did his best, just remember his duel with Lando Norris, which will be analyzed for a long time. Of course, you can disagree with me, but while we wait for Lewis to really open up, let's ask ourselves what Ferrari would have done if Charles hadn't joined the team in 2019.

Now briefly about the rest. Norris has a serious problem named Oscar Piastri. Which, and I insist on it, always reminds me of a young Kimi Raikkonen.

Speaking of Kimi, Antonelli wasn't happy this time. Unlike his partner, I think George Russell has always been underestimated.

I also really liked Oliver Berman, Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly.
