A key meeting is being held at Aston Martin
The Aston Martin team is holding a key meeting at the Silverstone base on Monday, during which management is going to develop a plan to improve competitiveness.
The series of stages in Japan, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia turned out to be a failure for Aston Martin – Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll not only did not earn points, but the speed of the car did not allow them to count on getting into the top ten. After the race in Jeddah, Alonso stated that it would not be easy to earn points in 2025.
For a team that has spent tens of millions on building a new base and wind tunnel, invited Adrian Newey and is going to fight for the title in 2026, the current results are far below the expectations of owner Lawrence Stroll. Aston Martin is currently seventh in the Constructors' Cup with ten points, but the cars behind Racing Bulls and Alpine are clearly faster.
After the race in Jeddah, British team principal Andy Cowell outlined his future plans: "We will meet on Monday to evaluate everything we have learned in the last three races and answer the question 'What should we do next?'
Can we achieve more from the car? Yes, I think we can. Judging by the last three stages, there are many areas in which you can achieve more from the car. Is that enough to win races? No. But can we move forward? Of course we can."
