The new bottom in Miami will be installed only on Max's car
This weekend in Miami, Max Verstappen will receive the latest set of technical updates that the Red Bull Racing team is working on, primarily an upgraded version of the underbody for the RB21.
According to RacingNews365, such a bottom will only be installed on the car of the four-time world champion, who, together with the team, is making every possible effort to remain among the real contenders for the title. So far, he has succeeded: Max is 12 points behind Oscar Piastri, the leader of the individual standings, and Lando Norris is only two points behind.
At the same time, Yuki Tsunoda will continue to pilot the car of the same version that was at his disposal at the previous stage in Saudi Arabia.
On machines of this generation, it is the bottom that generates the bulk of the downforce, which largely affects the balance of the chassis as a whole, but the bottom also plays a crucial role in the formation of air flow, and all this affects the degree and nature of rubber wear.
In the first races of the season, when they were held in hot conditions, Red Bull had problems due to increased rubber wear, and temperatures this weekend in Miami are approaching 30 degrees.
Apparently, the latest technical updates will be installed on Tsunoda's car only in Imola, at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix.
