Le Mans: Porsche donated 600,000 euros to charity

      Porsche has announced an impressive charity event.: She donated 500 euros to charity for each lap that the hypercars of the Porsche Penske factory team drove during the 24 hours of the Le Mans race.

      Last weekend, three Porsche 963 sports prototypes wound a total of 1,159 laps around the Sarte ring, totaling 579,500 euros, but the company rounded this amount up to 600,000.

      The funds were transferred to the accounts of the German non-profit foundations Interplast Germany e.V. and Kinderherzen retten e.V., which, working together With the University Hospital of Freiburg, they help seriously ill children from disadvantaged countries.

      This year, the best crew of Porsche Penske (car No. 6) finished second at Le Mans, losing just over 14 seconds to the winners of the race.
