Russell and Mercedes received a warning.
The stewards of the Austrian Grand Prix reviewed the pit lane incident involving George Russell during the final part of qualifying.
The team released the driver from the garage into the pit lane in a dangerous manner, nearly causing a collision with Max Verstappen and two Ferrari drivers.
The stewards found that when leaving the garage, George stopped at such an angle to the pit lane that he could not see other cars. When he tried to contact the team on the radio, he accidentally touched the clutch, causing the car to move forward. A Mercedes representative confirmed at the hearing that the team could have handled the situation better.
The stewards decided to issue a warning to George Russell and Mercedes.
