Lance Stroll: I don't like the essence of the new regulation.

      More and more drivers are gaining insights into the new generation of cars by working on a simulator with the 2026 prototype. Among them is Lance Stroll, who in Silverstone said that he didn't like the virtual model of the car due to reduced downforce and the increased role of electrical components of the power unit.

      Lance Stroll: "I don't know if the new regulations are as exciting as people say. Everything is relative – if you have a fast car, then it's exciting. We'll see what the next season brings. I don't know what other teams' cars look like – we'll only find out in the first race in Australia. But the regulations, I don’t know… If you ask me, I’d say they are a bit disappointing.

      It's a pity that Formula 1 has taken this electrification path, and we had to reduce downforce to support the battery operation. It would be more interesting if the cars became lighter, louder, faster, and generated more downforce.

      To a lesser extent, all this relates to the electrical components of the power unit, which has become a scientific project of the championship. I’m not a fan of the direction Formula 1 has taken.

      Of course, if the car is fast and we are better than the others, there will be no reason to complain. But I don’t like the essence of the new regulations. Many drivers agree with me, but not everyone is willing to speak about it for political reasons."
