Loudon: I won't persuade Riccardo to come back.
Valtteri Bottas is considered the main candidate for one of the two spots at Cadillac next season. The team principal Graham Loughran has an extensive list, but Daniel Ricciardo is definitely not on it, as his Formula 1 career ended last year at the Singapore Grand Prix.
When asked whether Cadillac is considering the Australian, Graham Loughran said: "As far as I know, Daniel has publicly stated that he is no longer interested in Formula 1.
I won't persuade him to return — that's not my job. If I have to persuade someone to get in the car, it only means that person isn't a good fit for us. A Formula 1 driver doesn’t need to be begged to get in the car. I have no problem — each person makes their own decisions."
When asked whether Cadillac is considering drivers without Formula 1 experience, Loughran said: "There are a few really good drivers in Formula 2. Felipe Drugovich, Frederick Vesti… You know, the list could go on.
Arvid Lindblad is a very good guy. He's doing an excellent job, but as you know, he has a contract with Red Bull."
