"Keeping Vasseur until at least 2026 would be a reasonable decision."

Frederic Vasseur appears to be staying on as Ferrari's team principal through 2026, despite speculation about other potential candidates like former Red Bull leader Christian Horner. While Auto Bild has suggested Horner might return to F1 with Cadillac, Eurosport Italia reports there are no ongoing negotiations between Ferrari and Horner. Instead, Ferrari’s management seems increasingly focused on stability, with Vasseur reportedly set to sign a contract extension of at least one year.

"At Ferrari, we are hearing that they are moving closer to Fred Vasseur and are in discussions regarding his contract," commented Ralf Schumacher from Sky Deutschland. "An extension would be vital for maintaining stability within the team. Both drivers support him."

Renowned Italian journalist Fulvio Solms, writing for Autosprint and Corriere dello Sport, also endorsed the idea. "Next year, everything in F1 will change, from the cars to the power units, and the majority of significant decisions have already been made," Solms said. "It would be quite sensible to keep Vasseur until at least 2026, especially considering F1’s timeline and the ongoing regulatory changes."

New technical director Loic Serra is now strongly shaping the development strategy. At Spa, Ferrari is set to unveil a significant rear suspension upgrade—recently tested at Mugello by both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton—alongside a lighter rear wing likely to debut at Monza, according to Eurosport Italia.

Vasseur confirmed the updates ahead of the Belgian GP. "We've put in considerable effort at the factory to provide a comprehensive package of updates for the SF-25, and we aim to optimize its performance from the outset," he stated. "In such a competitive F1 season, every small detail can prove crucial. We’re concentrating on a track where even the weather can have a significant impact."
