Liam Lowson: I need to improve in qualifying.

On Thursday in Hungary, Liam Lawson answered questions at the FIA press conference. Specifically, Racing Bulls driver was asked which area he needs to improve in during the second half of the season.

Liam Lawson: "If I had to choose one area, it would be qualifying. Given the density of the competition, starting position is very important. Even on tracks where overtaking is easier, it's still not easy to do because we don't have a three, four, or five-tenths advantage. With just a one or two-tenths advantage, overtaking is very challenging.

Qualifying is very important because it sets the tone for the entire weekend. When our weekends turn out to be unsuccessful, at least for me, it's usually related to the qualifying result. But when I qualify high, I have a strong weekend.

So my main goal is to get the most out of the car in qualifying and to perform as best as I can."

Commenting on the first half of the season, during which he switched from Red Bull Racing to Racing Bulls, Liam said: "It's been a very tense period, especially with the tumultuous events at the beginning of the year. Everything happened quite unexpectedly, the start was challenging, but gradually everything stabilized, and now I am in better shape.

Most of the year I had speed, and it's good that recently I've been showing good results. But more is needed, because two or three good races in the first half of the season are not enough.

In the second half of the season, we need more good races. Considering how tight the competition is now, every little detail matters. We need to try to get the maximum out of the car every weekend."
