Elbon: In Zandfort it feels like you're driving through a supermarket.

The first race after the summer break will be the Dutch Grand Prix, and the Zandvoort circuit will host the national round of the World Championship for the penultimate time, as its contract with Formula 1 expires in 2026.

Alex Albon has somewhat mixed feelings about the Dutch track: oddly, he compared it to a supermarket and, in his view, it is very cramped there. At the same time, he enjoys racing on the circuit.

"Zandvoort is one of those tracks you probably shouldn't be racing Formula 1 cars on, but it's great that it's allowed," the Williams driver said on Viaplay. "It feels like you're driving through a supermarket! There's just no room, yet you can still reach very high speeds.

The circuit is very narrow, but on the other hand, partly for that reason, drivers like it. The weather there is always interesting too. The wind is such that it's great for people who fly kites, but driving a racing car is less enjoyable. But that's exactly what makes the track challenging.

For some reason the whole Williams team likes it, even though there's not much sense in that..."

So far, Alex's best result at this circuit is 4th in qualifying and 8th in the race in 2023.
