Formula 1 is not expected in Sepang.

Rumours of the Malaysian Grand Prix returning to the calendar crop up and are denied with enviable regularity. After quotes from the circuit’s executive director spread through the news, the track’s press office rushed to announce that their boss had been misunderstood. “We have nothing to do with the possible return of Formula 1 to Malaysia. The matter was only about the circuit’s contract to hold a MotoGP round until the end of 2026 and close cooperation with the government via the Ministry of Youth and Sports, as well as with the franchise owner Dorna Sports, to continue MotoGP races in Malaysia,” the official statement said.
