McLaren are determined to dominate the remaining races.

McLaren is unequivocally dominating this season – after 14 rounds the team has 11 wins, 24 podiums and already seven one-two finishes. Such impressive statistics bring to mind parallels with the 1988 championship, when Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost, behind the wheel of the MP4/4s, won 15 of 16 races.

Andrea Stella explained the approach McLaren is using to maintain its advantage over rivals in the remaining ten races, although the team from Woking already has more than twice as many points as Ferrari, which sits second in the Constructors’ Championship.

Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris are contesting the title, and there is no longer any doubt that the champion will be one of them – it is enough to recall that in the last four races they delivered four one-two finishes for McLaren.

“I think, in terms of competitiveness, we are seeing a very positive trend,” RacingNews365 quotes the head of the British team. “First of all, I would say it has shown itself over several recent rounds where we took the top two positions.

As I have said in some other interviews, this is not only because we started the season with a competitive car. In fact, we have been steadily upgrading the MCL39 since Canada, whereas in the past this would have been one noticeable package of technical updates.

But lately we have been introducing certain new components at almost every race, so we are getting quicker. I think in Hungary we topped the timing sheets in every session, substantially ahead of the team behind us.

This creates a very positive mood for the remainder of the season. After the summer break we are ready to get back to racing. I think there are still circuits ahead that will suit us, such as Zandvoort. We also made special preparations for some other rounds, such as Monza or Vegas, where last year we did not perform well.

We understood that we had to do certain work to try to improve specifically at those tracks. So we are definitely looking forward to the second part of the season and expect to be competitive.”
