In Milan, thousands of fans greeted the Ferrari drivers.

For Ferrari, the Italian Grand Prix, which will take place on Sunday, September 7, has essentially already begun. Yesterday in Milan at the Piazza del Duomo, the city’s main square, thousands of fans gathered to greet the Scuderia's drivers, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton.

Such events called Drive to Monza are traditional and take place every year, but this time the interest of the Italian public, which had filled the square to the brim, was further heightened by the fact that they were seeing Lewis Hamilton for the first time.

Ferrari's results this year have not been pleasing, but loyal supporters always back their beloved team: as the local press reports, people queued from early morning to take photos with the team's drivers and get autographs — and a few hundred tifosi were indeed lucky.

"When I see so many people gathered here, I feel indescribable emotions," said Charles, who won the Italian Grand Prix twice, in 2019 and 2024. "And I still can't get used to it. No other team is supported the way Ferrari is. What expectations do I have for Sunday? As they say in Italy, 'There can't be two without a third.' We'll do everything we can to win. Winning the race will be difficult, but not impossible."

Over his Formula 1 career Lewis Hamilton has stood on the top step of the podium at Monza five times, and his reception was no less enthusiastic than Leclerc's.

"It's just incredible, and what I see here in Milan makes my heart beat in the rhythm of the race," said the seven-time world champion. "I love Milan! Being a Ferrari driver is a special responsibility. Winning while driving for other teams is great, but nothing compares to Ferrari. I thank everyone for such exceptionally warm support; we'll need all that energy this weekend!"
