Max Verstappen may soon broaden his motorsport pursuits to include motorcycle racing. Reports from De Telegraaf and Sky Italia indicate that the four-time world champion has reached out to MotoGP satellite teams LCR Honda and Aprilia’s Trackhouse regarding a potential acquisition. At just 27, Verstappen has been an avid MotoGP enthusiast and is already participating in GT3 racing through Verstappen.com Racing, according to De Telegraaf. His manager, Raymond Vermeulen, acknowledged the interest but emphasized that a deal is not on the immediate horizon. "It’s well-known that he has a keen interest in MotoGP," Vermeulen mentioned at Monza. "Max is very passionate about both car and motorcycle racing. However, taking over a team currently isn’t realistic. Everything needs to align perfectly. The likelihood of it happening anytime soon is quite low." These rumors surfaced shortly after Liberty Media, the owner of Formula 1, completed its acquisition of MotoGP’s promoter, while Guenther Steiner heads a consortium that has taken control of the Tech3 KTM team. Steiner, the former Haas team principal whose reputation grew with Netflix’s Drive to Survive, expressed that he sees potential to connect the two racing paddocks. He stated to Speed Week that he intends to continue working, at least part-time, as a commentator in the F1 paddock. "I can serve as a bridge between the two series," he said at Monza. "I know many people on both sides." Trackhouse, one of the teams associated with Verstappen, is already led by Dutchman Wilco Zeelenberg. Reports suggest that Steiner’s group spent over EUR 20 million to acquire Tech3, though the value of Verstappen’s possible bid has not been revealed.
