McLaren could clinch the Constructors' Championship as early as Baku.

McLaren is dominating in 2025 — after sixteen races Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris have twelve wins between them. No one now doubts that the Woking team will win the Constructors' Championship this season. What's more, at next week's race in Baku McLaren could mathematically clinch the title.

However, several conditions must be met for that to happen. McLaren currently lead their nearest rivals Ferrari by 337 points, and after the Azerbaijan Grand Prix there will be 346 points still available, including sprints. Therefore, in Baku McLaren's drivers must score a combined nine more points than Ferrari's drivers to be guaranteed to finish the season ahead of the Scuderia.

But that's not the only condition. Besides outscoring Ferrari in Baku, McLaren must not lose 12 or more points to Mercedes and 33 or more to Red Bull Racing at the next round.

If those conditions are met, McLaren will clinch the 2025 Constructors' Championship after the finish of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, seven races before the end of the season. In doing so, the team would surpass Red Bull Racing's previous record — in 2023 Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez secured the title for their team with six races remaining.
