During the Italian Grand Prix, Alpine announced the extension of Pierre Gasly's contract until the end of 2028. Who will be his teammate next season is unknown. Interim team principal Flavio Briatore said when the decision will be made.
Flavio Briatore: "We have not yet decided who will be Pierre's teammate. I believe that at the moment Franco Colapinto is doing well. At the very beginning he lacked experience, but you could say that about many young drivers.
In the last three or four races he has been much more consistent and has not made mistakes. It's possible Franco will remain with the team.
We have four or five races left to make a choice, so we'll see. The decision needs to be made in November."
