The Cadillac team continues preparations for its Formula 1 debut next season. Staff are currently being actively recruited to work at the Silverstone base, while a new team base is being built in the United States.
Before the end of the year Cadillac plans to conduct a series of tests with a car from previous years (purchased or leased from one of the current teams), so that engineers and mechanics can work through the basic scenarios of a race weekend. It had been expected that Valtteri Bottas would take part in these tests, but that will not happen.
The Finn remains Mercedes' reserve driver, and the Brackley-based team blocked Valtteri's participation in Cadillac's tests this year. Reportedly, Valtteri "fully agreed" with that decision.
Bottas may be replaced in the tests by his future teammate Sergio Pérez and the team's test driver Colton Herta.
