Formula E: Barnard signed a contract with DS Penske

DS Penske announced the signing of talented and quick Briton Taylor Barnard, who is regarded as one of the standout discoveries of last season in the electric series. In the American team, which competes in Formula E under a French license, he will become the teammate of Max Günther.

"I'm excited to join DS Penske for the 12th season of the series," Barnard commented. "This team has extensive experience in Formula E, and I can't wait to get to work with Max as we aim for strong results. Formula E is a unique championship, and I feel ready to continue along the path I've chosen and to fight at the front!"

In his first full season in the world championship for electric racing, driving for McLaren, Taylor finished fifth overall, recording five podiums and two pole positions. When he first finished in the top three, which was at the São Paulo round, he was 20 years old, becoming the youngest driver in Formula E history to reach the podium.

Barnard will replace Jean-Éric Vergne at DS Penske, and the 35-year-old Frenchman, a two-time champion, is likely to move to Citroen Racing — a team being formed from the former Maserati.
