Drugovich: I intend to focus on Formula E.

Felipe Drugovich will soon part ways with Formula 1 and continue his career in Formula E — after three years as a reserve driver for Aston Martin F1 he will now race for Andretti in the world championship for electric-car racing.

The Brazilian, who won the F2 title in 2022, already has experience working with Formula E teams: he twice took part in tests driving a Maserati, and last summer he raced two rounds with Mahindra, replacing Nyck de Vries, who was competing for Toyota in the WEC during the Berlin round. In his second race in the electric series Drugovich scored points, finishing seventh.

But now he will become a race driver in Andretti’s main lineup, and that team is one of the assets of the American company TWG Motorsports, which is also responsible for the Cadillac project in Formula 1. However, Felipe is not sure whether this could in any way affect what he will be doing in 2026.

"To be honest, I don't know. At this stage there is certainty only regarding the contracts of the full-time drivers," RacingNews365 quotes Drugovich as saying. "I think I should wait until the end of the year, and then it will be clearer what will suit me, what won't, and whether it will make sense for me to take part in any program other than Formula E.

"Actually I haven't really thought about it yet. Although, of course, some opportunities might arise. But for now I intend to focus fully on Formula E and I want to deliver good results. When I talk about what will make sense for me and what won't, I mean this: will this additional workload distract me from Formula E? That's the aspect I need to think through and weigh up.

"Much depends on what exactly might be offered to me, on what terms, and how things will develop. I don't want anything to negatively affect my performances in the electric series next year. But if the program offered to me interests me, and everyone is happy with it, then it's possible I might take on something else. But that's not the case at the moment."
