Coulthard: Drivers have a keen sense of fairness.

At the start in Singapore Oscar Piastri was outraged by being blocked by his teammate Lando Norris and by the team not intervening, telling his engineer: “If, in order to avoid a collision with another car, he has to take his teammate out, then that's a pretty poor manoeuvre.”

Former Formula 1 driver David Coulthard considers this remark by the championship leader key…

David Coulthard: “You know, Oscar makes a compelling argument! No further words are needed. I’ve said this more than once. A team can only intervene in a battle to a certain extent, because at some point it becomes unfair.

I don’t want to lay all my cards on the table, but when I let Mika Häkkinen past a couple of times, he repaid the favour by letting me through to third when I was fourth, not to first when I was second. Drivers have a keen sense of fairness. If a team intervenes, it has to be fair.”
