Hajar: I still think we have the speed.
Both Racing Bulls drivers believe the car allows them to fight for higher positions, but for different reasons neither managed to reach the final session of sprint qualifying at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas.
Isaac Hajar (12th): "I would say that by the end of practice the car was making a good impression, I was quite satisfied, but it seems that in sprint qualifying its behavior changed completely.
In the first session I managed to put together a decent lap, which allowed me to get into the second part of qualifying, and there was a feeling that we were quite competitive.
I expected to be able to find more in the second session, but we decided to stick to one flying lap, and it was very difficult to drive. Still, I believe we have the pace, so tomorrow we will need to give our maximum effort and try to get everything right.
Scoring points starting from 12th will not be easy, but we are set on attacking at full force, and we also plan to fight to reach the final in the main qualifying of the weekend."
Liam Lawson (15th): "During our attempts we were hampered by traffic, so today we'll try to understand whether we should have gone out on track earlier, because then we could have avoided such problems, but we decided not to rush.
However, the positive is that we have a very fast car here. It's hard to expect to score points, but we'll do everything we can to achieve that, and we'll continue preparing the car for Sunday's Grand Prix."
