Browning will replace Albon in the first practice in Abu Dhabi.
The Williams team announced a change to its lineup for the first free practice session of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Williams Racing Academy member Luke Browning will replace Alex Albon at the wheel of the FW47. In addition, Luke will take part in the young driver tests at the Yas Marina Circuit after the end of the season.
For the British driver, this will be his fourth time participating in free practice sessions. Last year he got behind the wheel of the Williams in the first practice in Abu Dhabi, replacing Albon. This season Browning replaced Sainz in the first practice in Bahrain and in Mexico.
Luke Browning: "An unforgettable weekend awaits me in Abu Dhabi. I will continue to fight for the Formula 2 title and return to the wheel of the FW47 — I will enjoy this challenge. Taking part in the young driver tests will give me a final opportunity to help the team prepare for 2026. I look forward to being part of the Formula 1 team one last time this season. I thank the Racing Academy and Williams for their trust."
