Lewis Hamilton: This is my worst season ever.
After a disappointing qualifying, both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton scored points in the Las Vegas race. However, Ferrari are unhappy with sixth and tenth places – the deficit to Mercedes and Red Bull Racing in the fight for second place in the Constructors' Championship has increased by another 16 points.
Charles Leclerc (6th): “You can't call the result good. Sixth place is disappointing. On the other hand, I probably had the best race of the season from a driving standpoint. I drove every lap very well and made no mistakes. I'm very pleased with my performance, but sixth place is very disappointing.
I had problems on the straights – I lost a lot of speed compared to the guys ahead, and the DRS was activating very late. So I was losing a lot at the start of the straights, but then I realised I could claw back time under braking.
I think I surprised some of my rivals with my braking into turn fourteen. But when, closer to the finish, Oscar Piastri pulled more than a second clear of me and I was left without DRS, it became very difficult for me.”
Lewis Hamilton (10th): “I feel awful. This is the worst season I've ever had, and no matter how hard I try, it just keeps getting worse. I've tried everything I could – both in the car and outside it.”
