An Australian politician suspects McLaren.

The Formula 1 championship title, like any other high-profile sporting success, is part of a nation's pride, but there is always only one winner. Who will win the title this year is not yet known, but the Australian parliament recently discussed a "conspiracy theory" against Oscar Piastri at McLaren.

At a meeting of the committee on agriculture, regional affairs and transport legislation, Australian Senator Matt Canavan asked Secretary Jim Betts whether he thought McLaren's approach was biased and was preventing Oscar Piastri from winning the title.

"For some Australians, that night was a bit disappointing," the senator said. "I don't know who to direct this question to, but you deal with transport and cars. Do you think McLaren is biased against Oscar Piastri and are depriving him of the chance to become champion?"

The hearing broke into laughter, and the matter was quickly hushed up.
